I have been wearing this brand
for 15 years. The cork footbed is the best for incredible, yet
light-weight support. The only problem with this shoe is that
my big toe eventually tears a whole in the wool felt. Still, I
usually get 2-3 years out of one pair and considering I wear
them everyday, that seems like a good deal.
We purchased for use in our home in Redmond, Washington. We
are in Goodyear, Arizona (Phoenix area) for the winter until
April 30 so will evaluate the shoes more after returning to
the Pacific Northwest. Maybe we will order a couple pair (me,
wife) next fall for use here in Arizona! We have relatives in
Vail, CO who have used these shoes for several years so it was
a natural to purchase some for our use in a colder climate in
Washington.
These Amsterdam's have a similar footbed than
Birkenstocks...just much better! I cannot say enough good
things about this shoe. The footbed contours perfectly to my
foot and it is lined with felt so you can wear them with or
without socks. The arch support is excellent. I wear these
shoes primarily as an indoor shoe but they are a great
everyday shoe for outdoors as well. If my feet could talk they
would thank me for buying these.
This is the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. I usually
like to go without shoes around the house but these are better
than barefoot. After wearing them for about a week they really
seemed to conform to my foot and they fit perfectly.
Wears Amsterdam shoe: walking dog, around the neighborhood and
around the house
They're like wearing slippers, but have a ton of support. It
took a little while to get used to the high arch, but with
flat feet, I appreciated it. Also, the material of the sole
tends to make walking on carpeting a little harder. Overall,
I'm really pleased with this purchase. |
